Hi Jerry,
If you look to the left side of the site you’ll see the “Category Tree”, tons of good tips, instruction, etc. on there.

Right now I’m working on video that I’m getting ready to start putting up on the site but in the mean time if you have any specific areas you want tips on, let me know.

Some of the guys seem to like the forum and others watch the videos.

Weekly tips, etc. will start going up this week.

Hi guys. We start umpiring in my association this week. Where are the tips of the week? How about just some posts with early season tips? Seems kind of quiet in here, or maybe I just don’t know where to look.

I just received my 2010 edition of the Jaksa/Roder (yes, I spelled Jaksa correctly) book in the mail yesterday. Well worth the money!

There is a 2010 revision of the Jaska/Roder manual that should be available after the 4th of March or so. It is available from their website rulesofbaseball.com/.

if you buy Jaska/RODER IT has the fed and ncaa rules differences in the back. Jaska/ Roder is excellent.

I have the J/R Manual, its the 2008 Edition. I just wanted to get the BRD because it was reccommended to me. I’ll just wait until November and get on the list for the next release.

The only place I thought I recalled seeing the BRD book was at Gerry Davis sports. After a quick look there, they don’t seem to carry it presently. However, they do have the Jaksa/Rhoder manual, which is an excellent source for rule interpretations in the pro game. I was lucky enough to find one on ebay for a pittance; the price of nearly $40 is still a very worthwhile investment for the umpire looking to broaden his grasp of pro rules.

What I’ve found out so far is that they are not publishing a 2010 version of this book which is also called the “BRD”. It’s my understanding they are not publishing one this year because the H.S. rules had very minimal changes, soooo, the 2009 BRD will cover all areas this year too.

I then searched the net (too) and to my surprise could not find anything on the 2009 BRD. If anybody out there knows who’s selling them, let us know.

This a great book for all amateur umpires who are working or are aspiring to work, all levels of baseball, GREAT BOOK!!

Bugsy,
This may be the first post of the season… don’t know. But I’ve been looking around on the site for a couple of weeks now, like it a lot. Now, my question.
Where can I find a copy of Carl Childress’s book on the Basic Rules Differences?
Seems to me, after searching all over the internet, that this thing is out of print or something.

I’d really like to buy a copy, if they still make them.
